Eric Paslay

Temple, TX - April 3, 2023. Every once in a while, you encounter someone whose hard work, integrity and sheer determination have produced excellence in all they say and do. Today, I shine the spotlight on Eric Paslay formerly of Temple, Texas and now resident of Nashville, Tennessee. The Grammy nominated singer/songwriter, most recently Texas Regional Radio Music Awards (T3R) song-writer of the year, and TLC former camper took the stage in Temple, Texas Saturday night to give of his time and considerable talent for the benefit of Texas Lions Camp.

The Temple Breakfast Lions Club recently held a music festival in the MLK Fairgrounds in Temple, Texas. The benefit began on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at 2:30 and ended around midnight, featuring many bands and headlined by Eric Paslay. In his own words, hear what Eric had to say about your Texas Lions Camp and what it means in his life:

This was the First Annual music festival and was produced by Lion Lisle Meeker and other “go-getter-Lions” in the Temple Breakfast Lions Club, including our very own Dr. Steven Ponder. Other Lions of note included Randy Sepulvado and the entire membership of the Temple Breakfast Club. The Club did an excellent job of arranging vendors, activities, and security was provided by a very heavy presence and professional cadre from the local Sheriff’s Department. I understand that next year’s festival will be “Blue-grass” themed.

Between bands and throughout the evening, Lion Lisle Meeker introduced and invited guests with a knowledge of TLC to speak about their experiences with TLC. This list included two camper families, Dr. Stephen Ponder (TLC's Medical Director) and yours truly. Dr. Ponder has had a significant impact on so many in his 42 years associated with TLC, including in the life of Eric Paslay

To cap off the evening and to further contribute to the funds generated for TLC, Eric stated that he chose to travel without his band and just brought his guitar so that more funds would go straight to Texas Lions Camp as a result of his appearance. Eric also brought with him a one-of-a-kind guitar signed by over 14 artists for auction that included such names as the following artists:

Guitar Valued at $30,000...Randy is priceless

Eric will expand his growing list of charitable contributions and benefits for Texas Lions Camp when he takes the stage and headlines for Texas Lions Camp’s Music Festival next year at the Kerrville Expo Center to commemorate and celebrate TLC’s Diamond Anniversary. This event will also lead up to the full solar eclipse that will occur on Monday following the festival, where the Kerrville Office of Emergency Management estimates that more than 150,000 visitors will descend upon the Texas Hill Country.

Thank you once again to Lion Lisle Meeker, the Temple Breakfast Lions Club, all of those who played a large or small role and of course, our favorite CMA recording artist, Eric Paslay.

Sincerely yours,
