FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Texas Lions Camp, Inc. (830) 896-896-8500 | news@lionscamp.com From the Office of the President & CEO Stephen S. Mabry, CAE Being Helpful Pays Dividends
Kerrville, TX - April 6, 2020. The Board of Directors of Texas Mutual Insurance Company, just announced that they will release a scheduled dividend 2 months early in order to benefit their policy-holders when they may need it the most.
If you are not already familiar with how dividends work, it is a percentage return of profit to the owners of a company. It is elective, the amount, timing and release of which is determined by the issuing company's governance structure. This of course also includes the option to discontinue dividend payments in times when holding on to cash might seem the more prudent thing for a company to do. Having selected Texas Mutual as TLC's Worker's Compensation Insurance Provider, TLC is a policy-holder in Texas Mutual. As a result, I received the following news release from Texas Mutual this morning: Dividend
checks coming early to support our policyholders
I recognize that not only is offering a dividend not required of Texas Mutual, but releasing it at all during a historic, economic downturn is an act of kindness on its face. Releasing it early merely to help...well, that's extraordinary. Thank you to our partners at Texas Mutual for your courage and kindness when it is needed the most. I pray that you emerge from the current pandemic stronger than ever and continuing to safeguard one of our most precious of resources at TLC, the personnel who make the magic happen for more than 1,500 kiddos per summer.
