Chairman Kicks Off 75th Anniversary Planning

Kerrville, TX - January 13, 2020. During the November 2019 meeting of the Executive Committee, Chairman of the Board Gary Linker appointed Treasurer, Tom Blase and President & CEO, Stephen Mabry to head the planning/steering committee that will make plans to celebrate TLC's Diamond anniversary.

Stephen reported that TLC will celebrate 75 years of service to children when the birthday of its founding is observed on April 4, 2024. Coincidentally, four days later, a full solar eclipse will occur and perhaps not so coincidentally, the epicenter for this eclipse will be none other than...TEXAS LIONS CAMP IN KERRVILLE, TEXAS!. As if there were ever any doubt, one might even be led to conclude, that the stars have aligned for TLC to take its next step into the future.

As Tom and Stephen have met to begin initial planning, they have begun discussing those who would be "stellar" partners to add to the endeavor, which will be comprised of Lions, TLC Pro-staff, Former-staff members and community members. Appointments to the committee will soon be going out.

Stephen has already added a page to the Camp's website to catalogue, advertise and invite everyone to hold a place on their calendar. Visit the site today and learn more and if you have a great idea on how we might take our celebration during the four-day, celestial celebration to the Next-Level, then drop us a line and PLAN TO GET INVOLVED!
