Dr. Ponder will be reaching out to families through three (3) different, but complimentary, venues:

  1. a one hour Wednesday evening webinar from 8:00 PM-9:00 PM, (see description below)

What's A Webinar?

This will be an internet-based, informative discussion led by Dr. Stephen Ponder, covering a number of topics of interest to parents of children with diabetes. Breaking news topics regarding diabetes care in children will be discussed, plus all questions posted will be answered either during the webinar or on his daily blog. Several topics of interest include the status of diabetes prevention, insulin therapy and cancer risk, new developments in Vitamin D and diabetes, news in the area of insulin pumps and CGMS.

Dr. Ponder has had type 1 diabetes since 1966. He has been using the insulin pump since 1982. He is a board certified pediatric endocrinologist with over 20 years of direct experience managing all forms of diabetes in children. Dr. Ponder has been attending diabetes camp every year since 1981 and has served as the camp’s medical director since 1989. He speaks nationally and internationally on diabetes care in children and authors numerous original articles on various topics relating to diabetes in children and adolescents.
